Originally hailing from the Rockies of Colorado, Bay Bryan is a Manchester-based singer-songwriter and theatre maker who has been making waves in the UK music scene. Their imaginative and cinematic songs have garnered praise from notable music publications, with “Sweet Joan” recently featured on BBC Radio 3’s “Inside Music.” Blurring the lines between music and theatre, Bay’s performances are immersive experiences that transport audiences into a vivid world of stories and dreams.
Bay is set to release their debut album “The Meadow” in early April 2023 with an album launch gig to celebrate at The Lodge at Deaf Institute Thursday April 6th. “The Meadow” is a concept album that tells a poignant story about someone trapped in an endless daydream, struggling to let go and move on to the next chapter of their life. With an air of playfulness, naiveté mixed with melancholy and bitter-sweet longing, “The Meadow” is a transformative exploration of a world between fantasy and reality.
The live experience will not only feature the performance of the songs backed by Bay’s band, but will also include personal stories that accompany the album’s narrative. Bay’s performance style, which has been described as “open and vulnerable”, will transport the audience and foster a strong sense of community between performer and audience. The event promises to be a unique and immersive experience, with the gig feeling more like a piece of gig theatre than a conventional music show. The opening set will be performed by the notable DJ James Holroyd, who’s eclectic set will set the tone for a night to remember.
Following the album launch, Bay Bryan plans to embark on a UK tour in Fall 2023, with more dates to be announced soon.
