Full of femme fatale poise and swooning chanteuse flourishes’ The Times

‘Iraina seizes on the best aspects of the past, blurring those impeccable 60s and 70s influences with a touch of modernity’ Clash

‘What You Doin’’ is the second single by Iraina Mancini for Needle Mythology, the label founded by music writer, author and broadcaster Pete Paphides. ‘What You Doin’’ is the follow-up to her fifth BBC 6Music playlisted track ‘Cannonball’. Needle Mythology is also proud to announce that Iraina’s sumptuous debut album ‘Undo The Blue’ will be released on 17th August and is available for pre-order now.

Iraina says of ‘What You Doin’’, “I wrote about someone not being able to see what’s right in front of them, and If they don’t act soon, then you’re not waiting around! It’s got a lot of attitude and confidence. I love the live feel the song has, it was great to have Miles Kane (guitar) and Kitty Liv (harmonica) come down to the studio to jam on the track. Their parts added an extra sprinkle of magic to the song.”

The album ‘Undo The Blue’ has been finished over the past few months while Iraina has been DJ’ing up and down the country and presenting her weekly Soho Radio slot. Iraina has written all the tracks on the album along with regular collaborators Simon Dine (Paul Weller) Jagz Kooner (David Holmes, Oasis, Shakespear’s Sister) and Sunglasses For Jaws (Miles Kane), who have all produced the record along with additional production from Erol Alkan (The Killers, Duran Duran, Ride).
