STRANDZ
12th March 2024 - 7:00 pm
The Deaf Institute

Strandz was born in Germany, subsequently moved to Nigeria and

finally to South London where he currently resides. For him it was

very eye opening how notably different cultures affected the way of

life and opportunities in each country. Growing up in South London,

Penge, he quickly had to adapt to the rules of society and the

called “street code”. Music started a few years later for Strandz, back

in the CD days he would dig through his Dad’s collection hoping to

find some hip-hop. There was only one red CD, which to Strandz was

filled with pure gold. A mix of all the New York greats – such as 50

Cent, Fat Joe, Terror squad, D-Block and so on. Strandz sound and

passion for music stems from a truly eclectic ear hearing the sounds

of Nigeria, Germany and London whilst being deeply inspired by what

existed across the pond on the east coast in the 90s & 2000s.

Through a series of releases, Strandz went from making music when

attending his local youth club and making songs with 6 of his friends,

to a Top 10 single, dynamic performances at Reading Festival and

Glastonbury 2023 and now almost 2 million monthly listeners on

Spotify making Strandz one of the most exciting and sought after

artists in the UK.

With a trejecotory to soar globally building credible audiences

already in Australia, Germany, Asia and Sweden, Strandz is only at the

beginning of an extraordinary journey ahead.
